Continent 8 has expanded the size of its data centre in Atlantic City by adding 30% more capacity.

A 5,330-square-foot Modular Data Centre (MDC) was added to the site as part of stage three expansion, which was approved by the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA).

Prior to the East Coast Gaming Congress's launch on 19 April, the modular addition's official opening took place on 18 April. The mayor of Atlantic City Marty Small, Senator Vince Polistina, Assemblyman Don Guardian and Executive Director of the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority Sean Patwell, among others, attended the event.

Since the company's 2019 launch, it has been increasing its capacity and, now, the data centre is 15,000 square feet in size and has over 120 equipment racks.

Michael Tobin, Founder and CEO at Continent 8, said: “It was a privilege to welcome so many stakeholders and all those involved in the Phase 3 expansion to our official opening. We are incredibly proud of the hub we have built in Atlantic City, creating an economic catalyst for South Jersey, and establishing a data centre that enables companies in iGaming and beyond to connect to a global network.”

Recently, Continent 8 appointed Lalaine P. Vidal as the company's business development manager and Christopher Caturay as a technical solutions architect.

The appointments were a part of Continent 8's expanded strategy in Asia, where it currently offers connectivity, infrastructure and security solutions to a wide range of clients in the iGaming sector.
