o, a new Gibraltar-based HTML5 games development program and platform has gone live for regulated online gambling markets.
The Odobo offering is the result of over 18 months worth of development undertaken by a team of more than 40 industry engineers, architects, designers, and developers.
Odobo are accepting applications to their Game Developer Program from game studios and producers, offering developers the opportunity to capitalise on high-value payers in the online gaming industry via licensed online casino operators.
Games built within the framework of the Odobo Developer Program will be available for desktop, tablets and smartphones, with all approved games set to be offered to consumer operators via the Ododo marketplace, a B2B content store set to launch in early 2013.
Developers who require assistance with HTML5 game production will be given support by Odobo’s in-house HTML5 game development team, including a comprehensive analytics platform offering real-time gameplay visibility and historic reporting.
Based upon engines and random number generators and certified by industry-accredited third-party testing facilities, the Odobo Game Development Kit (GDK) makes all approved games available in multiple currencies and languages.
The consumer-facing Odobo Play portal is to be unveiled in Q1 2013 and will see every game, developer and casino operator given their own profile page.
Odobo founder and CEO Ashley Lang said: "There is a lot of excitement over the convergence of social and regulated gaming.
"It's very likely that the blockbuster game that will help take online casino gambling mainstream has not been invented yet.
“We thought, 'how would any developer with that great game idea overcome all the hurdles in today's industry?' Something needed to change."
"Casino operators invest millions in marketing and are actively seeking new and high-quality content from a wider variety of developers to engage existing players and attract tomorrow's new ones.
“We saw a big opportunity to revisit the way content is created, distributed, marketed and monetised to the benefit of all stakeholders.
“We have designed the Odobo platform to enable and support innovation, while operating within a regulatory framework where responsible gaming and fair-play measures are in place to protect the players.”
