Online card game Junglee Rummy has officially finished the 12th edition of its flagship tournament, Rummy Premier League (RPL). The top winner, Sumit Kumar, won a prize of ₹1.17 crore ($142,300).
Flutter acquired Junglee Games back in 2021 and RPL12 turned out to be the largest online rummy tournament ever hosted by Junglee Rummy, with a grand prize of ₹10 crores.
Kumar from Uttar Pradesh has become the newest entry to Junglee Rummy's ₹1 crore-plus prize winners' club. Baidyanath Khan from West Bengal and Milind Gharat from Maharashtra secured second and third positions in the final, winning ₹29.34 lakhs ($35,700) and ₹14.67 lakhs, respectively during the 88-day-long competition.
In the previous edition of the Rummy Premier League, Suneeta Sitaram Sharma from Gujarat took first place and won a cash prize of ₹1.5 crores in the grand finale. Sharma started her journey on Junglee Rummy by playing free tournaments and eventually moved to cash tournaments during RPL11.
When discussing the origins behind the idea to host the Rummy Premier League, Mohul Mukherjee, VP of Product Marketing and Communications at Junglee Games, said: "We are thrilled to see the incredible response that the Rummy Premier League has received over the years.
"Our primary goal has always been to offer a safe, secure, and enjoyable gaming environment to rummy lovers in the country, keeping responsible gaming and fair play at the heart of every tournament and competition.
“At Junglee Rummy, we are committed to constantly pushing the boundaries and ensuring that each season of the RPL is filled with exciting and rewarding experiences for our players. With every edition, we learn, innovate, and deliver an unparalleled gaming experience."
