To mark the conclusion of the integrated resort's makeover and bring the Cotai Strip into a new era, The Londoner Macao hosted a grand celebration.

The Londoner Macao, a British-themed redesign of the Sands Cotai Central integrated resort, has been improved over the previous two years in preparation for an increase in visitors.

The celebration, with the theme "The Journey Begins," also marked the beginning of a brand-new 10-year gaming concession for Sands China. Over the following 10 years, the firm has promised to invest $3.7bn in the city.

One of the honourees was UK football legend and Sands global ambassador David Beckham, along with top government and corporate figures from Macao.

The "Be My Guest" campaign was highlighted by the hotel.

The Londoner Macao consists of five luxurious hotels, including the all-suite flagship, The Londoner Hotel and The Londoner Court, with a combined capacity of around 6,000 rooms and suites.

It also has a grand façade that was inspired by the Palace of Westminster and the Houses of Parliament, and it is illuminated at night by the Londoner Light and Sound Spectacular.

The hotel is connected to The Parisian Macao, The Venetian Macao and The Plaza Macao. Further, the hotel underwent renovations and additions which cost $2bn.

Robert G. Goldstein, Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO, said: "Sands China has delivered on Sheldon Adelson's vision through the ongoing development of Cotai.

"We are excited to fully support the Macao Government in its vision to develop a highly diversified tourism industry through enhanced MICE offerings, new sporting and cultural event programming and enhancements to Macao's reputation as a global City of Gastronomy."

Dr. Wilfred Wong, Sands China Ltd. President, said: "Our team members will continue building on the great community work they have been doing and The Londoner Macao's grand celebration signals a new chapter for our social impact projects as well as an opportunity to deepen relationships with our local partners.”
