Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has opened the doors to its newest entertainment destination, the Terre Haute Casino Resort.
The resort, spanning 400,000 square feet, boasts a wide array of amenities and aims to provide visitors with a premium gaming and hospitality experience.
The opening of the 122-room luxury hotel and event centre complements the existing casino floor, which debuted on 5 April earlier this year.
Equipped with 1,000 slot machines, 36 table games and a sportsbook, the casino offers guests a variety of gaming options.
Additionally, the resort features a range of dining venues, including the Four Cornered Steakhouse, Rockwood Bar & Grill, The Soda Shoppe, Crossroads Center Bar and High Limit Bar.
Bill Carstanjen, CEO of CDI, stated: “Terre Haute Casino Resort has already attracted thousands of visitors from the region to enjoy an unparalleled gaming experience.
“The opening of the new luxury hotel component furthers our commitment to bringing new vibrancy to Terre Haute with this premier entertainment destination and marks a significant milestone for Churchill Downs Incorporated.”
The development of Terre Haute Casino Resort – which commenced construction in June 2022 – created 1,000 construction jobs.
Now, the resort continues to provide approximately 550 full-time and part-time employment opportunities, contributing to the economic growth of the region.
In related news, the start of the year saw Churchill Downs Incorporated partnering with Sports Illustrated. This deal entailed CDI securing exclusive multi-year naming rights for a new dining experience at the Kentucky Derby.
