3 Oaks Gaming has announced its expansion into the Romanian market, establishing Romania as a strategic hub for Southeast Europe.

This move is part of a broader investment in Europe, with existing offices in the Isle of Man, Malta and Bratislava.

The Romanian operations will focus on game distribution and leverage local talent to enhance offerings. The company aims to capture a 5% market share in the first year and grow to 10% in the foreseeable future, with a primary goal of achieving sustainable profitability within two years. Continued investment in local talent and advanced technology will reportedly be key components of this strategy.

Sebastian Damian, 3 Oaks Gaming Managing Director, commented: "Romania offers a unique blend of advantages that make it an attractive investment destination. The country has a highly skilled workforce, particularly in technology and engineering, which is essential for our game development operations.”

Damian added: “Additionally, Romania's regulatory environment is favourable and well-structured for iGaming activities, providing a stable foundation for our business. Compared to other countries in the region, Romania's combination of competitive costs, talent availability and growing digital infrastructure positions it as a key market for our expansion strategy"

In April 2024, 3 Oaks Gaming received a Class 2 Romania licence from the National Gaming Office (ONJN), allowing it to offer its games to licensed operators in Romania. This follows other certifications in Portugal and the UK and partnerships with operators like Alphawin in Bulgaria and NetBet in Mexico and Italy.

Additionally, in May 2024, 3 Oaks Gaming entered the South African market through a partnership with Supabets. This deal provided players on the Supabets platform access to the company’s portfolio of games, including ‘Sun of Egypt 3’ and ‘Green Chili.’

Damian leads 3 Oaks Gaming's global operations from Bucharest and has over twelve years of experience in the gaming industry.

3 Oaks Gaming is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Supervision Commission in the Isle of Man, the Gambling Commission in the UK and the ONJN in Romania. The company plans to acquire licences in Malta and Greece and has certifications in several other countries, including Bulgaria, Colombia and Italy.
