et Group has reported record performance for the third quarter of 2016, with gross winnings revenue reaching a high of £142.3m, a year-on-year rise of 65%.

Underlying EBITDA for the three months to the end of September was £33.9m, an increase of 73% over the same period in 2015.

The group also reported profit before tax of £24.8m, attributing “strong performance across all brands” in part to its retention of customers gained during Euro 2016.

The number of active customers climbed to just over 1m during the quarter, a significant increase on the 671,635 recorded during Q3 2015.

Unibet’s strong Q3 results have driven successful year-to-date performance, posting overall gross winnings revenue of £391.3m, representing year-on-year growth of 61%.

Henrik Tjärnström, Unibet Group CEO, said: “Strong performance across all brands and successful acquisitions deliver 65% increase in gross winnings revenue (42% in constant currency, of which 27% is pure organic growth).

“Of the group’s gross winnings revenue 33% was from locally regulated markets.

“Gross winnings revenue from the mobile channel more than doubled in GBP and accounted for 64% of the total gross winnings revenue generation in the third quarter.

“It is of course particularly satisfying that the excellent top line growth converted into a new all-time high in EBITDA, demonstrating again the scalability of the group’s business model which is structured to meet the future challenges of further regulation.”
