The Star Entertainment has announced the formal appointment of its Group CFO and its Sydney CEO, with all necessary regulatory approvals received for both roles.
According to Star Entertainment’s published ASX announcement, Interim Group CFO Neale O’Connell (on 22 March 2024) and The Star Sydney CEO Janelle Campbell (on 25 January 2024) will effectively start their tenure, with Campbell also joining Star Sydney’s board after the announcement.
At the same time, Star Entertainment has also issued a notice today regarding disruptions to its establishments’ electronic gaming machines and electronic tables. The disruption was caused by “system performance issues identified in post-upgrade testing” after a recent cashless gaming upgrade to all its machines, prompting a halt to all electronic game machines and table games under Star’s properties “from 10:00pm onwards on 13 July 2024 until the issue is resolved.”
In the meantime, Star Entertainment is working closely with Konami to “address the operational issues as soon as possible and will provide an update once operations return to normal.”
Treasury Brisbane, The Star Gold Coast and The Star Sydney are all affected. However, the three establishments will “remain open with table games, restaurants, bars and entertainment available” despite the disruption and temporary halt of all electronic gaming machines and electronic table games.
Star’s most recent appointment has seen Steve McCann as its new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD).
