Star Entertainment announced that its system performance issue on 15 July has been fixed.

The “system performance issues associated with the company’s Electronic Gaming Machines (EGM) and Electronic Table Games (ETG)” has been rectified and “all EGMs and ETGs in each of The Star’s three properties have progressively been turned back on and are operational” by 17 July. The three properties include Treasury Brisbane, The Star Gold Coast and The Star Sydney.

On 15 July, Star issued a notice regarding disruptions to its establishments’ electronic gaming machines and electronic tables caused by “system performance issues identified in post-upgrade testing” after a recent cashless gaming upgrade to all its machines, prompting a halt to all electronic game machines and table games under Star’s properties. During this time, Star had been working with Konami to “address the operational issues as soon as possible.”

The decision to halt the operations of all EGMs and ETGs was to “ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and to maintain the Company’s commitment to safer gambling procedures.”

At the same time, Star also announced the formal appointment of its Group CFO and its Sydney CEO, with all necessary regulatory approvals received for both roles.

Star’s most recent appointment was Steve McCann as its new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD).
