Grand Korea Leisure, one of South Korea’s licensed foreign-player-only casino operators, has announced its July 2024 revenue.

The company’s July 2024 revenue amounted to KRW19.227bn (US$14.07m), a 38.2% decrease year-on-year.

The sums included revenue from all three casinos under its name: Seoul Gangnam Casino, Seoul Dragon City Casino and Busan Lotte Casino. Out of the three, only Seoul Dragon City Casino saw a slight increase in revenue, from its June’s KRW11.22bn to July’s KRW11.58bn.

The slight increase, however, was no help in overall total July revenue, which still appeared lower than its June total revenue of KRW37.02bn, a 48.1% decrease in month-on-month revenue.

Table games are still the main contributor of revenue, earning up to KRW16.56bn while slot machines only contributed KRW2.6bn. Both, however, still fall short when compared to June’s KRW34.24bn for table games and KRW2.7bn for slot machines. Approximately 51.6% and 4% fall for each category. A significant difference between the two categories.

A look at visitor numbers for all three casinos saw that there is indeed a slight decrease in VIP visitors, from June’s 2,493 to July’s 2,477, despite the slight increase of premium mass visitors from June’s 9,666 to July’s 11,411.

Paradise Co., another South Korean licensed foreigner-only casino, also reported a similar decrease of year-on-year revenue; a 1.3% decrease at KRW62bn, despite representing a 7.3% increase in its month-on-month.
