BetMGM has launched its Wheel of Fortune Online Casino in Ontario through a collaboration with Sony Pictures Television and International Game Technology (IGT).
This venture marks BetMGM's second brand-led online casino in North America, following the initial launch in New Jersey in 2023. The Wheel of Fortune Online Casino offers a selection of over 1,600 games at launch, including slots, progressive jackpots and table games, with plans to regularly introduce new titles.
The casino features various Wheel of Fortune-themed slot games produced by IGT, including BetMGM Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin, Wheel of Fortune Elegant Emeralds and Wheel of Fortune Megaways.
The launch is part of BetMGM's strategy to expand its presence in the North American market, aiming to leverage the brand recognition of the Wheel of Fortune, an American game show.
The casino is accessible on iOS and Android devices and via desktop. Ontario's iGaming market reportedly presents a significant opportunity for BetMGM to increase its market share. The company has collaborated with Sony Pictures Television and IGT to create a platform that aims to appeal to both slot players and fans of the Wheel of Fortune TV show.
This launch comes at a time when BetMGM is focusing on growth and market expansion. In the first half of 2024, the company reported a 6% increase in revenue, reaching $1bn, though it experienced a negative EBITDA of $123m.
BetMGM's market share in the US and Ontario for iGaming and sports betting is currently at 13%, with a 22% share of the US iGaming market. The company aims to drive further growth through continued investment and customer acquisition strategies.
