Resorts World Sentosa’s Chief Casino Officer (CCO) Andrew MacDonald has been banned from the Marina Bay Sands.
According to news reports, MacDonald was issued a Persona Non Grata (PNG) Notice by Marina Bay Sands, stating that the former CCO was “prohibited from entering or remaining on any part of Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort premises, including but not limited to the Hotel, Mall, Convention Center and Casino.”
In addition, the prohibition “will remain in force until further notice and that MBS operating entity Marina Bay Sands Pte Ltd may take legal action should MacDonald attempt to enter or remain on property.”
MacDonald was the Corporate SVP and CCO at Marina Bay Sands for 12 years, before stepping down in late 2021. He joined Marina Bay Sands’ rival Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) approximately 12 months later, also as CCO and a Director.
The ban on MacDonald was due to allegations of attempting to poach players or staff from his former employer. MacDonald has denied the accusations, stating that the visits had been social in nature, mainly to greet a close friend, former Crown Melbourne executive Mike Sugrue, who was visiting then.
Regarding Resorts World Sentosa’s latest news, the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) has elected its CEO Tan Hee Teck as the federation’s president.
Genting Singapore, RWS’s operator, also announced recently that H1 revenue was up 29%.
