Balkans casino operator Merit International has implemented an IDIS video solution at its latest luxury casino and hotel resort, the Starlit development in Budva, Montenegro.
The surveillance system, installed by Volga Electronics, covers the 2,500-square-meter resort and includes over 90 NDAA-compliant cameras, each of which provides high-definition coverage of gaming tables, slot machines and surrounding areas.
A key feature of the system is its centralised monitoring and management environment, enabled by IDIS Solution Suite (ISS) federation services – a function that links Merit's various properties.
Integration with the casino's ERP software further streamlines incident investigation by overlaying transaction data on recorded video.
In addition to this, Merit International is also exploring AI-powered analytics, such as people counting and heat maps. Going forward, these tools have the potential to improve staff allocation, resource management and provide business intelligence.
The modular nature of the IDIS system hopes to allow for easy future implementation of additional AI capabilities as needed.
