The Rank Group has appointed a new Chief Marketing Officer for its Grosvenor Casino subsidiary operation in Chris Edgington, who moves on from his role as Chief Customer Officer at ATG Entertainment.
Edgington steps into his new role as head of the marketing department for Rank’s largest division, Grosvenor Casinos, on 23 September 2024.
The operator seeks to build on its recent positive financial results which saw group net gaming revenue (NGR) grow by 9%, reaching £734.4m ($973.9m) for the financial year ended 30 June 2024.
Conversely, Grosvenor’s NGR figure also rose by the same amount year-on-year to a figure of £331.3m, building on the encouraging Q1 figures released by the company in October 2023.
Now, Edgington will hope to leverage his prior C-Level experience at ATG, as well as an additional nine years of marketing expertise in the gaming industry, with organisations such as Ladbrokes and William Hill as he steps into his new role. Further, Edgington’s senior experience also extends to his prior role of VP of Marketing at P&O Cruises.
Commenting on his new appointment, Edgington stated: “The Grosvenor brand is iconic in the gaming industry and I am delighted to join Mark and his executive leadership team to help accelerate the growth programme. I have already been impressed by the scale and clarity of the ambitions at Grosvenor, and I am looking forward to joining a talented team which is focused on delivering a first-class customer experience.”
Building on this point was Grosvenor Casinos Managing Director, Mark Harper, who said: “Chris joins us at a pivotal time for the Grosvenor business as we look to build on our recent strong results by delivering a compelling customer proposition across all of our venues.
"Chris brings extensive experience, having led the marketing function of many consumer brands, including leading gaming companies, and his insight and energy will help us to deliver our ambitious plans more effectively.”
