Tech supplier Softswiss has stepped forward to assist communities affected by severe flooding in southern Poland.
The flooding, caused by Storm Boris in September, devastated parts of Central and Eastern Europe, with Poland's southern regions bearing the brunt of the damage.
In response to the crisis, Softswiss made a financial contribution to Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, a Polish charity organisation.
The company's two development offices in Poland enabled its employees to join the relief efforts. Under Softswiss’s coordination, staff members packed over 100 kilograms of essential items, including food, hygiene products and emergency supplies such as matches, candles and batteries.
These vital resources were then handed over to Caritas Polska, another charitable organisation leading relief efforts in the affected areas.
This initiative follows Softswiss’ earlier charity and awareness campaign supporting flood-affected regions in Brazil. As part of these efforts, Softswiss provided clean water facilities that are expected to aid the 100 students and staff at two schools, as well as the 300 surrounding families in the area.
Commenting on the company’s decision to get involved, Natalia Perkowska, Deputy Chief HR Officer at Softswiss, stated: “Unfortunately, natural disasters happen and we don’t want to stand idly by. We strive to help in any way we can.
“This aligns with one of our core values, We See People, which applies not only to our employees. We always see the people beyond the business and I believe our ESG initiatives reflect this.”
