Key points:
- Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt has been nominated as Chairwoman of Svenska Spel, pending approval at the 24 April Annual General Meeting

The Swedish Government has announced the nomination of Eva-Lotta Sjöstedt as Chairwoman of the Board of Svenska Spel.
The decision is part of a broader effort to strengthen the leadership of Sweden’s state-owned gambling operator.
Alongside Sjöstedt, Anna Gagner-Geeber and Johan Wilsby have also been proposed as new board members.
Sjöstedt brings extensive leadership experience from international businesses. She is currently a board member of Elisa Oy, a Finnish telecom company, and Metro AG, a German wholesaler in the grocery sector.
Additionally, she previously served as CEO of Georg Jensen, a Danish luxury design company, and held senior positions at Ikea in Sweden, Japan and the Netherlands.
Her background in corporate governance and leadership positions is hoped to position her well to guide Svenska Spel through future industry challenges.
The nominations will be formally considered at Svenska Spel’s Annual General Meeting on 24 April 2025, in Visby.
Good to know: Alongside the proposed new members, several current board members have been nominated for re-election, including Eivor Andersson, Stefan Berg, Gunilla Herlitz, Nyamko Sabuni and Anne Arneby
The nomination of Sjöstedt occurs during a period of transition and digital transformation for Svenska Spel, with the company recently appointing Amäni Radwan as its new Chief Financial Officer – effective July 2025.
Radwan, who currently serves as Head of Group Finance, will succeed Eva Stoppel after her six-year tenure in the role.
