Accel Entertainment has announced the appointment of Cheryl Kondra to its Board of Directors, with immediate effect. Kondra will also assume the role of Chair of the company’s Audit Committee.
The appointment follows Accel’s stated intention to strengthen its governance structure as it expands its footprint in the US gaming market. Kondra’s addition to the Board brings extensive experience in audit, compliance and regulatory oversight across public gaming companies.
She is currently VP of Internal Audit at Tractor Supply Company and has previously held senior roles at Caesars Entertainment, Pinnacle Entertainment and Genting Americas.
Accel CEO Andy Rubenstein commented: “With Cheryl’s deep expertise in the casino and gaming sector, we are confident her insights will help us further our goal of becoming best-in-class in audit and compliance in the gaming industry.”
Good to know: Kondra also serves as a board member of Galaxy Gaming and has supported multi-jurisdictional operations across North America
Her prior roles include Chief Audit Executive at Caesars, where she oversaw compliance across more than 50 global locations. She later served as CCO at Pinnacle Entertainment.
Her appointment comes as Accel implements a new corporate governance framework. The company confirmed it will move from staggered three-year board terms to annual elections for all directors. The shift is intended to increase shareholder accountability and enhance board responsiveness.
Eden Godsoe, who has served on Accel’s Board since the company’s transition to a public entity, will not seek re-election.
Accel Chairman Karl Peterson stated: “Her insights, efforts and dedication have been instrumental in guiding the company through key milestones.”
Accel completed its $164.2m acquisition of Century Gaming in 2022, a move that expanded its operations into Nevada and Montana. The deal added more than 8,300 gaming terminals across over 900 locations, along with proprietary loyalty programmes and a manufacturing arm through Grand Vision Gaming.
The company has continued to diversify its revenue streams and geographic reach, supported by steady post-Covid recovery and integration of new assets into its broader operational portfolio.
