As reported by the Bangkok Post, an illegal entertainment venue in ; so perhas been shut down following a major police raid. The venue was discovered in a rented warehouse located in tambon Thachin, Muang district, and was reportedly operated by a Myanmar national for the benefit of migrant workers.
The raid was led by Provincial Governor Naris Niramaiwong and Pichet Thongphan, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Labour. Over 200 officers from the police, military and local administrative bodies were deployed.
Inside the premises, authorities uncovered a fully operational entertainment facility including a pub, VIP karaoke rooms and snooker tables. During the inspection, small amounts of illegal drugs were found concealed in sofas and corners of several rooms. Military-grade firearms and ammunition were also seized, though no further details were provided.
Officials reported that approximately 150 Myanmar nationals were residing in the warehouse. Drug use was reportedly permitted and gambling activities may have taken place.
Several individuals were taken into custody for questioning. The identities and specific charges of those detained have not been officially disclosed. Equipment such as snooker tables were seized from the scene.
Governor Naris stated that the warehouse had been operating without authorisation. He confirmed that legal proceedings would be initiated against the Myanmar operator as well as the Thai national who leased the premises. The building has been ordered to close.
