Melco Resorts & Entertainment has announced the appointment of John Peter Ben Wang as an independent Non-Executive Director.
Effective June 13, he was appointed Chairman of the company’s audit and risk committee, and a member of the compensation and nominating and corporate governance committees.
He has also been designated as an audit committee financial expert.
Wang served as a director of the company from November 2006 to August 2016. He was Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Summit Ascent Holdings Limited, a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, from 2011 to 2019. Earlier in his career, he held the position of CFO at Melco International Development Limited between 2004 and 2009.
Before that, Wang held senior roles in various financial institutions, gaining extensive experience in finance, accounting and investment banking.

Earlier this month, Melco announced plans to gradually cease operations at four of its gaming venues in Macau by the end of the year.
The venues affected are Grand Dragon Casino, Mocha Hotel Royal, Mocha Kuong Fat and Mocha Grand Dragon Hotel.
