ling revenues in Macau have increased 21% for the month of June.

The year-on-year rise saw turnover for the period increase to 28.3 billion patacas ($3.54bn), in line with analysts’ expectations of 18%-21% growth.

The region enjoyed a 13.5% rise in May, while revenues are up 15.3% to 171.4 billion patacas ($21.45bn) for the first six months of 2013.

A special administrative region of China, Macau is the only part of the country where casino gambling is legal.

The area’s casino revenues are six times larger than those of the Las Vegas strip.
