£12m casino set to open in Black Country

ased casino and bingo operator Casino 36 is set to build a new casino facility on land near to the Black Country town of Dudley, at a cost of £12m.

The project will see the existing Castle Casino relocate from its present Castle Hill site to nearby Castlegate Park with its gaming licence being transferred over to the new property.

It follows the opening of the Casino 36 casino in Wolverhampton last year, at a cost of £7m.

The new two-floor facility will encompass a 450-seat bingo hall located on the ground floor, with a casino located on the second floor. The new project will create over 70 new jobs.

Casino 36 Director Adrian Ballard told the Birmingham Post: "Dudley has always been a leading market town.

"I feel the opportunities our new site will provide will complement these plans and be an additional vehicle to bring much-needed tourism back to the borough.

"We are determined to provide something the area is lacking and are focused on providing new facilities in a friendly and safe environment where people can relax in an exciting and fresh new setting."

The developer is currently awaiting approval from local authorities to begin construction on the site, with the launch pencilled in for early 2018.
