iGaming recruitment hike in 2017

ialist media and iGaming recruitment agency Pentasia has reported that the number of individuals being recruited for the European iGaming industry during the first five months of 2017 is already greater than the figure recruited during the whole of 2016.

Analysis by the recruiter found that there was a sustained stream of senior sales and account management positions becoming available, due in no small part to increased confidence in the industry as a whole and a larger talent pool. It also found that competition between providers had increased the standards of sales and account management professionals in the industry.

Steve Kirk, Senior Consultant with Pentasia said: “Already in 2017 we’re aware of more senior sales and commercial roles in the iGaming industry than in the whole of 2016. This is clearly an exciting time for the sector, with significant opportunities for both candidates and employers.”

Pentasia identified an increased desire among operators to expand into new markets, driven by both strong financial performance and the growth in areas looking to regulate iGaming as a key factor in the higher number of sales positions becoming available.

Their research found that a significant number of mergers and corporate acquisitions in the iGaming industry during the last 12 months had resulted in a high demand for senior sales personnel displaced as a result, allowing many to choose to work in other areas within the iGaming industry.

However, Pentasia noted that despite a buoyant recruitment market, iGaming firms are still finding it difficult to hire professionals with strong mid-level sales experience, but saw this as an industry-wide problem rather than a specific iGaming issue.
