ne operators PokersStars have agreed a New Jersey gaming deal with the land-based Resorts Casino Hotel.
The partnership, which is pending approval by the New Jersey regulatory authorities, sees the online poker giants team up with the longstanding Atlantic City casino to offer legal online gaming in the state.
Mark Scheinberg, CEO of PokerStars owners Rational Group, said: “Resorts is a fantastic partner for us and we are looking forward to launch PokerStars in the US in association with the other quality brands Resorts has brought to Atlantic City.”
New Jersey online gaming legislation declares that operators wishing to offer internet gaming in the state must partner with a land-based Atlantic City casino.
PokerStars were recently denied the opportunity to appeal against a legal decision supporting the termination of their takeover of the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel.
The casino had walked away from an initial deal following the failure of Rational Group to receive preliminary ownership approval from New Jersey casino regulators by an agreed date.
