Amaya completes purchase of Rational Group

Amaya
dian based iGaming group Amaya has completed its acquisition of Rational Group, paying a final payment of $47.5m and associated fees totalling $870,000.

Rational Group, operators of the PokerStars and Full Tilt brands was initially sold to Amaya in August 2014, for a fee of $4.9bn.

However, under the terms of the deal Amaya were able to defer immediate payment of the full purchase price, instead making instalment payments of $200m in November 2016 and two payments of $75m in February and April 2017 respectively.

In its statement announcing the completion, the company stated it had used cash flow from operations to raise the remaining payment amount of $47.5m.
