ts and betting-related data suppliers Sportradar have unveiled a new live scoring system for tennis.
A result of the firm’s partnership with the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the new system generates live data direct from the chair umpire at the federation’s 1,000+ tournaments a year.
The product also allows Sportradar brand Betradar to further extend their Live Betting Services, increasing coverage to up to over 30 tournaments a week, or 50,000+ matches a year.
Sportradar and the ITF began working together in 2012 on the collection and supply of live data from ITF tournaments to the media and betting industry.
Sportradar CEO Carsten Koerl said: “The partnership with ITF has been very successful so far and we are proud to have already over 150 clients acquiring our Betradar Live Betting services for ITF matches.
“The tremendous increase of available matches will allow us to further improve our existing services, but more importantly we are looking forward to the launch of innovative live betting solutions for tennis in the near future.”
Jan Menneken, executive director of commercial for the ITF, added: “The implementation of the new live scoring system is a milestone for the ITF.
“The collection of the scores directly by our umpires represents a major improvement of our internal processes, assures data integrity and provides interesting opportunities to develop added value services for the national federations, tournaments, players and commercial partners moving forward."
