t-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt has announced that he will be joining Team PokerStars as its new brand ambassador.
In an announcement on his Facebook page, Bolt said he would join Team PokerStars’ ‘I’m All-in’ marketing initiative and posted a video in which he ‘called out’ fellow brand ambassador Kevin Hart, saying that he would bring ‘speed and smarts to poker’.
The self-styled world’s fastest man joins fellow illustrious sportspeople Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Rafa Nadal, Boris Becker and former two time FIFA world cup winner Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima in becoming a brand ambassador for Team PokerStars.
In a statement announcing his new role Bolt said: “PokerStars is a winner and I’m happy to join Kevin in helping to bring poker and PokerStars to the masses. It’s a challenging game that’s fun, social and competitive so I’m pleased to be able to introduce it to my fans and to people around the world.”
Bolt will represent PokerStars in marketing campaigns and live appearances geared toward introducing new audiences to poker.
PokerStars Vice President of Corporate Communications Eric Hollreiser welcomed the signing of Bolt saying: “Usain Bolt is a fierce competitor who pushes his game to the limits,” Hollreiser said. “But he’s also one of the most-liked athletes in the world. His strong global following and winning personality will help us to introduce poker in a fun, social and fast way.”
