Playtech
iders Playtech have acquired poker affiliate website PokerStrategy.com.

The €38.3m (£33m) deal for the Etruvian-owned site is designed to strengthen the buyer’s position in the online poker sector while providing a community-based model for player acquisition, something the firm hope will be attractive to both social and real-money players in existing and soon to be regulated markets.

PokerStrategy.com CEO Damian Sokol and COO Pavel Stehno will remain in their roles, while site co-founders Dominik Kofert and Enrique Guzmán will stay on as consultants.

A PokerStrategy.com statement said the site will “stay fundamentally the same and maintain its independence in the market”.

A Playtech statement said the firm believe that “given the combination of cost and revenue synergies, the acquisition is earnings enhancing”.
