Catalan
Rock International has announced details of its new Hard Rock Entertainment World proposal, which is slated to be one of the largest integrated resorts (IR) in Europe.

In a Monday press release, the company revealed that the project has already been approved by the Catalan Government, with a maximum capacity of 745,000m2 and an estimated global investment of €2,000 million.

The project, located in Vila-seca and Salou (Tarragona), Spain, will also consist of a hotel with 500 rooms; a shopping destination with over 75 shops; an entertainment area with concert capacity in excess of 15, 000 people; and a Hard Rock Café, with an accompanying Rock Shop.

The casino destination will boast 1,200 slot machines and 100 table games.

“We’re honoured to work with the Catalan government on the creation of Hard Rock Entertainment World and look forward to bringing first-class entertainment and hospitality experiences to the region,” said Jim Allen, Chairman and CEO of Hard Rock International.

Phase 1 alone of Hard Rock’s new IR in Tarragona is expected to create over 11,500 direct and indirect construction jobs and ongoing employment. The economic impact to the region is estimated to reach €1.3bn.
