mate Poker, the first legal real-money online poker product to go live in the state of Nevada, has received unanimous final approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission.

Operated by internet gaming firm Ultimate Gaming, the intrastate Ultimate Poker site launched on 30 April, when it was given 90 days to prove that it could adhere to the state’s regulatory requirements.

Ultimate Gaming CEO Tobin Prior said: “Not only was Ultimate Gaming the first company in field trial and the first to launch live play, but today we became the first to receive final approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

“The board set extensive regulatory requirements for online poker in the state, and we are thrilled that our product has met and exceeded these standards.”
