Caesars to launch real-money online poker in Nevada this week

Caes

Caesars
ars Interactive Entertainment will go live with real-money online poker in Nevada on 19 September using their Word Series of Poker brand.

As of 9:19 am PT on Thursday, anyone within the state’s borders who is over the age of 21 and in possession of a mobile phone will be able to play for real cash at WSOP.com.

Available to both PC and Mac users, WSOP.com real-money poker will offer cash games, sit & go’s, satellites and multi-table tournaments for full table and short-handed limit and no-limit hold’em, as well as Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo and Seven Card Stud gameplay.

Players will be age-verified and vetted through a process of “responsible gaming screening”.

The initial launch will be in the Field Trial stage of development, during which time Caesars and the relevant Nevada regulatory authorities will closely monitor all aspects of the operation, with the regulators having approval over the technology and final say as to whether the product can come out of the Trial.

The site’s main launch promotion will be the WSOP.com Online Championships, a series of nine tournaments with $500,000 in added money.

WSOP.com will also be offering players the chance to win a $10,000 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event seat ahead of October’s tournament in Paris.

The site will also have its own loyalty program, the Action Club, which will reward players with points for each hand or tournament they play, points which can be redeemed for ring game or tournament cash, or converted into credits for Caesars’ wider Total Rewards program.

Caesars Interactive Entertainment CEO Mitch Garber said: “This is a historic moment for our company.

“A state-of-the-art poker offering from one of the most established and regulated operators in the United States is finally here.

“We have taken the 43-year-old World Series of Poker brand and combined it with the Caesars Entertainment portfolio of assets to provide consumers with what we believe will be an unrivaled poker offering to satisfy today’s technologically savvy consumer.

“We will bridge land-based and online gaming in ways that have never been seen before.”

Caesars Interactive Entertainment were created in 2009 as the online arm of gaming, hotel and resort company Caesars Entertainment.
