ne bingo and casino operator Jackpotjoy are searching for a new director today after Vera & John co-founder Jörgen Nordlund stepped down from his post as non-executive director.
The resignation comes just a year after Nordlund was appointed to the role and will see the termination of all his other existing directorships and consultancy agreements with the firm.
Nordlund co-founded Scandinavia focussed mobile casino operator Vera& John, which was later sold to Jackpotjoy in 2014 for €81m.
In a statement Neil Goulden, Chairman of Jackpotjoy plc, paid tribute to Nordlund’s involvement in Jackpotjoy saying: “As co-founder of Vera&John, Jörgen has played a significant role in the creation of Jackpotjoy group.”
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to express our thanks to him both for his contribution to the business over the previous three years and in particular, to our successful listing in London.”
Nordlund’s departure comes less than a month after the Jackpotjoy group reported a year-on-year revenue increase of 17% in the first quarter of 2017, when compared to the same period in 2016.
The company later confirmed that it expects to announce a replacement to the post of independent non-executive director over the next few months.
