ts and betting-related data suppliers Sportradar have agreed new rugby union and football deals.
The first sees the Rugby Football Union (RFU) sign up to the firm’s integrity monitoring services, an arrangement which will see Sportradar monitor all of the RFU’s domestic competitions as well as England’s Autumn internationals for signs of betting-related corruption and fraudulent activity.
RFU CEO Ian Ritchie said: “Although rugby union is not seen as a high risk sport in this regard, the RFU recognises that it is essential to take proactive, preventative action to protect rugby union, its participants and its integrity.”
Sportradar have also agreed a three-year deal with the Football Conference to become the official sports data partner of the Skrill Premier, Skrill North and Skrill South – the fifth and sixth tiers of English league football.
The Conference believe the distribution of official data will help eliminate the unauthorised collection, dissemination and use of official or erroneous data, as well as the presence of unofficial data collectors at Conference matches.
The deal is also designed to create a framework for more extensive information exchange and cooperation with the legal gambling industry.
