Colossus Bets reach 11,000 players

The firm behind the weekly seven-leg correct score football bet The Colossus, which offers a guaranteed prizepool of £10m every time, made the announcement at their Christmas party, which was attended by brand ambassador and former England football international Michael Owen.

Around 100 VIP players, B2B partners and industry professionals attended the event, which saw guests participate in a fantasy Colossus Bets game based on historic football matches.

Owen himself commentated on the action as mobile alerts presented players with fractional cash-in offers as the various legs played out.

A player’s live ticket can be cashed-in during half-times and as the matches in a pool complete, with fractional cash-ins allowing participants to take some profit while retaining an interest in part of the jackpot.

Colossus Bets CEO and founder Bernard Marantelli said: “It was a great night and shows this Colossus and especially fractional cash-in on multiples are really capturing both the industry’s and the public’s interest.”

“Michael Owen was a real sport commentating on his own goals (and misses) in the fantasy game.”

It was revealed that Colossus, who also provide weekly pools for the five main European football leagues, each of which guarantees a minimum of £2m in prizes, have taken over £700,000 worth of bets since launching in August.

The operators also revealed that 62% of all registrations have been completed via mobile, which is also the channel through which 43% of bets have been placed.

The biggest pool pay-out to a single customer so far has been £12,302.30.

A total of 37% of cash-in transactions occur on mobile, with 92% of cashed-in tickets going on to lose, while the biggest cash-in offer for a losing ticket has been £12,000.
