The 13 finally opens its doors

The 13 Hotel in Cotai, Macau has opened today after obtaining a gambling licence earlier this month.

The 13 finally opens its doors

After first welcoming guests on 24 August, The 13 expects to have gambling operations up and running in the near future.

The future of the hotel owned by South Shore Holdings was in the balance, as it struggled to obtain a gambling licence from the Macao Government Tourism Office.

After a failed first inspection in June, a second inspection of the hotel was conducted in late July and a licence was granted on 15 August.

The 13 offers approximately 200 duplex suites and villas, according to a company statement.

Walter Power, CEO of South Shore Holdings said: “I want to thank our outstanding team of designers, consultants, contractors and staff members for their dedication and contributions to the making of The 13.

“We are sincerely appreciative of the support by the Macau SAR Government throughout the development process.”
