Penn National puts forward plans for $111m Hollywood Casino Morgantown

This would be the operator’s second satellite gaming facility, which will be located on a 36-acre site in Berks County. The casino will include 750 slot machines and 30 table games, with the ability to cater for a further 10.

The casino will offer a sports and race book, restaurant, food court and entertainment lounge. This is expected to create 250 new local jobs and over 275 construction jobs, which could take around 18 months to build.

Timothy J. Wilmott, Penn National CEO, said: “While we explored numerous locations for our Category 4 casino in and around Berks County, the site we selected is unparalleled in terms of ease of access to three major arteries. Hollywood Casino Morgantown is ideally situated to generate new revenues from the more densely populated suburbs to the west of Philadelphia, while further protecting our existing market share at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.”
