The Swedish gambling regulator has approved four new companies to operate in the country, including operator Betway.

The Malta-based business can now provide online gambling and betting to customers in Sweden.

Expekt Nordics and Tipwin also secured online gambling and betting licenses, while Mandalorian Technologies Limited was another company to receive an online license.

This announcement means 23 companies now have permission to operate in the Scandinavian country from the start of 2019.

Yesterday, The Stars Group was approved its Swedish license, with the regulatory body, Lotteriinspektionen, saying 95 firms had applied. Of these, 70 concerned online gambling.

This is unlikely to represent the overall number of businesses as several companies will be operating with multiple brands.
