The financial update concludes a strong year for the gaming hub, with analysts previously forecasting concerns over the US' trade war with China pushing VIP gamblers away.

Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau also announced monthly gross revenue of MOP26.46bn ($3.28bn) for December; a 17% year-on-year growth.

The figure marks the 29th consecutive monthly year-on-year revenue rise for Macau’s casino industry, following a 9% year-on-year growth in November to MOP25bn.
