Stars Group has entered into an agreement with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort for gaming and sports betting operations in New York.

The agreement will give Stars Group the option to operate and brand real-money online sports betting, poker and casino in New York on a first skin basis.

It also stipulates the operator will provide support services for the launch and operation of a retail sportsbook at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort in northern New York.

Mohawk will receive a share of revenue from the operation of certain online products offered by Stars, while Stars will receive revenue share from the retail sportsbook provided by Mohawk.   

Robin Chhabra, CEO of Fox Bet, the new US sports betting brand of Stars Group, said: “We are excited to announce this agreement with Mohawk.”

Todd Papineau, General Manager of the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort, said: “With its online betting and gaming solutions and Fox Bet and PokerStars brands, we believe Stars Group is the ideal partner for us and it is positioned to become a leader in the US online betting and gaming industry.”
