The operator’s Magical Vegas brand featured as the club’s main shirt sponsor for 2019/20, but Rank Group has decided to ‘gift’ the sponsorship to its charity partner.
Ipswich unveiled Carers Trust's logo on the front of its shirt during a kit launch, with the move designed to raise awareness of the charity’s work, which supports unpaid carers in the UK.
Rank Group CEO John O’Reilly, said: “We’re proud of our partnership with Carers Trust and we’re continually looking at ways in which we can further support the charity.
"We’re delighted that this sponsorship will shine a much needed spotlight on the fantastic work Carers Trust do in supporting unpaid carers across the UK."
Carers Trust’s CEO Gareth Howells, added: “We are thrilled to see unpaid carers recognised with the Carers Trust logo featured on such a special commemorative shirt. On behalf of all the unpaid carers we work with, I’d like to wish Ipswich Town every success for the new season."
Ipswich currently ply their trade in League One, the third tier of English football.
There could be more such 'gifts' in the future, as the House of Lords calls for a ban on gambling operators advertising on kits of sports teams, although the ban wouldn’t take effect for clubs below the Premier League before 2023.
