Coral to sponsor heavyweight bout
UK bookmaker Coral will sponsor Saturday’s all-British heavyweight boxing match between Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora.
Coral is taking its first steps into boxing sponsorship and will hold rights over the press conference, weigh-in and card itself.
The fight will be held at The ExCel in London, with the winner gaining the British and European titles as well as being installed as the mandatory challenger to Wladimir Klitschko after the Ukrainian’s next fight in March.
Simon Clare, Coral PR and broadcast director said: “This is Coral’s first venture into boxing sponsorship and we are looking forward to it immensely.
“Boxing attracts a very engaged and passionate audience, most of whom enjoy betting on sport, and we are excited about promoting the Coral brand and our new mobile betting app and online betting service to these fans through an association with a great fight night.”
The fight will be broadcast live on BoxNation, a subscription channel operated by Boxing Channel Media and promoter Frank Warren, who welcomed the partnership.
“We’re delighted to have Coral on board for this massive event,” he said.
“It’s only fitting that one of Britain’s leading bookmakers are sponsoring this night full of 50-50 fights.”
