By Owain Flanders

Through the deal, 22BET will become PSG’s official online betting partner in Africa, securing exclusive marketing rights.

22BET will benefit from brand exposure within the Ligue 1 2019/20 champion’s home stadium – Parc des Princes. There, the sports betting operator will be permitted to advertise on LED screens surrounding the pitch.

The operator will also receive exclusive opportunities for employees and clients, such as a club legend meet-and-greet session and VIP seats for home matches.  The brand can also organise private events at the Parc des Princes.

Commenting on the partnership, Olatunji Idowu, director of 22BET Africa, said: “We are thrilled to announce our partnership with one of the most premium and sought-after sport brands in the world, which combines on-pitch success with innovation off the pitch.

“The fast-growing presence of the club worldwide will help us further promote our brand in the African region.”

In sealing this deal, PSG joins the long list of European football clubs signing partnerships with betting operators in recent months as league’s get started once again.

Last week, Italian football club Juventus teamed up with Parimatch for the season, while English Premier League team Arsenal FC signed a new partnership with Estonian cryptocurrency-based sports betting platform Sportsbet.io.
