The data was published by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

GGR for the nine months of 2020 was close to MOP38.61bn ($4.84bn), an 83% year-on-year drop compared to MOP220.30bn ($27.60bn) for the same period in 2019.

Macau showed low numbers for September GGR despite resuming the Individual Visit Scheme with China. Residents of Zhuhai, a region closest to Macau, were allowed to apply for IVS since August 12, and on August 26, IVS applications were accepted from the residents of Guangdong province. Brokerage Sanford C. Bernstein Ltd said the resumed IVS program should bring more than 10,000 visitors daily, which is an improvement to the approximately 5,000 daily visitors in August.
