Spelinspektionen signs Memorandum of Understanding with Kansspelautoriteit
By Violeta Prockyte

With the agreement, the authorities seek to increase cooperation, share information and experience, and jointly enforce actions against operators. Both authorities want to prevent criminal activity, ensure fair and transparent gaming, and protect players against gambling addiction.

Director general of Spelinspektionen, Camilla Rosenberg, said: "By opening the communication channels between the authorities we become stronger in our supervisory activities. This is the fourth MoU we sign with European gambling authorities since the new Swedish regulation came into force in 2019.”

In August, Spelinspektionen signed an MoU with the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and the agreement was designed to help with supervisory tasks for the two authorities, such as sharing best practices.

Kansspelautoriteit chairman, René Jansen, said: "Such a Memorandum of Understanding forms a good basis for sharing knowledge, collaboration and a smooth exchange of information.

"A clear signal is also sent to providers of games of chance that they are joining forces internationally.”
