Malta Gaming Authority launches vaccination scheme for gaming sector
By Gambling Insider

The launch of the new scheme was done with the help of the GamlingMalta Foundation, which will allow people employed by gambling businesses in Malta to be vaccinated.

Maltese gaming companies will use a coordinated vaccine booking schedule, which will run alongside the state-wide programme.

The MGA has said some companies may even benefit from onsite vaccinations, making the process safer and easier.

In a statement, the regulator said: “In line with existing initiatives by local Health Authorities towards reaching herd immunity as rapidly as possible, both entities are currently assisting the local gaming industry towards Covid-19 vaccination of their respective personnel by coordinating a bespoke service for the sector.”

According to government statistics, the country recorded just two new cases on May 16 and no Covid-19 related deaths have been reported since May 7. Overall, the country has seen 30,484 coronavirus cases with 417 deaths.

The new scheme comes after the Maltese regulator announced Ryan Pace as its new chairman; as former deputy chairman, Pace was promoted to the role from within.
