The region has two casino resorts, Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa. Marina Bay Sands has now removed a restriction of seating only two people at one gaming table and Resorts World Sentosa stated that most of the venue’s attractions would be operating at revised capacities. Hotels can now welcome more guests and events featuring live performances are also allowed.

The Guangdong province in China is, too, seeing signs of recovery after the region was placed under strict quarantine rules due to a growing number of Covid-19 cases.

Guangzhou initiated slow easing of the restrictions but requires residents to pass three rounds of testing. This could potentially be good news for Macau, as the majority of visitors to the city come from mainland China.

Currently, however, Macau has yet to remove its travel restriction for arrivals from Guangdong. Macau only has close to 20% of its citizens vaccinated, according to reports, despite the availability of the vaccine.

However, certain areas in the Philippines will remain under quarantine rules until the end of the month. The National Capital Region, including Metro Manila, will reportedly have some restrictions in place according to general quarantine rules, while nine cities and 12 provinces will face modified enhanced community quarantine.

Under general quarantine, many businesses can operate at 50% capacity.
