By Sehaj Dhillon

The record numbers were achieved with the help of seven lotteries, including Georgia, Maine, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and West Virginia.

The event was hosted by actor John Crow, who in the past has also worked on Mega Millions TV and is current draw host for the Georgia Lottery.

During the event, Crow opened a prize envelope in a live poll and revealed a prize worth $777. There were also prizes worth $77, though these envelopes were not chosen.

Katherine Cundiff, VP Product Development for the Georgia Lottery, said the event sold out within six weeks. According to Cundiff, the event was "a huge success," as she added: "We experienced new records of participation during the promotion.”

Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director, Drew Svitko, added: “Offering fun and new ways players can enjoy our lottery games allows us the ability to generate funds for vital programs, which seniors rely on every day.”

The 7-11-21 event was designed as a way for lotteries to connect the retail and digital lottery experience.

John Schulz, Senior VP Lottery Instant Products for Scientific Games, said: “Leading up to the 11 July event, we were able to help seven US lotteries kick-off 2021 in a big way with a social media spin on a popular game featuring the ‘lucky’ numbers 7, 11 and 21.

“Our goal with these live games is to incorporate live digital events with strong instant games."
