Galaxy Gaming signs up High Variance Games portfolio
By Tim Poole

Admittedly, Galaxy Gaming's latest news is not a full-on acquisition, but the Las Vegas-based casino supplier has purchased the rights to the game portfolio of High Variance Games, LLC.

This portfolio includes Super Blackjack, Super Texas Hold'em, Super Pai Gow, Three Card Stud Triple Draw and Super Omaha Poker.

Jeff Hwang, President and CEO of High Variance Games, displayed the same delight Lightning Box Managing Director Peter Causley did when discussing his Scientific Games deal.

Hwang said: "Galaxy Gaming has the distribution network I was looking for in a partner and an impressive, forward-thinking management team. I see an organisation with a ton of upside."

And Todd Cravens, Galaxy Gaming's President and CEO, added: "We're thrilled to work with Jeff Hwang to add these new titles to our content portfolio and Prime Membership catalog.

"What excites us about these new games is that we believe they will resonate with casino players and add even more diversity and strength to our catalog of world-famous titles."

The supplier will naturally be hoping for a boost following its Q1 results, when revenue decreased 5% and net income fell from $117,000 to $89,000. We are yet to see how Q2 went, however.

Steve Cvetkoski, Galaxy Gaming's Director of Product Development, is confident High Variance Games will provide a "natural fit."

He explained: “With our focus on innovative, omnichannel content, Jeff’s games are a natural fit. They’re unique, exciting games that add to the breadth of our portfolio.

"We expect high action while maximising a player’s 'time on device' – certainly a real win-win for both players and operators."

Over to you, Mr Hwang.
