Casinos Austria to become Nagasaki's IR partner
By Gambling Insider

Casinos Austria finished with a score of 697.0 points, following a Request For Proposal (RFP) process launched by the prefecture. Oshidori International Development finished in second with 682.8 points and NIKI Chyau (Parkview) Group in third with 667.1 points.

The company owns 12 casinos in Austria as well as lottery business Austrian Lotteries, according to information available on the website. The firm also controls Casinos Austria International Ltd, with investments in several casinos and other gaming-related businesses internationally.

The announcement of the winner comes four days after Oshidori had said it was considering withdrawing from the selection process, describing it as "restrictive and unreasonable ruler" and questioning whether it was being "conducted in an ethical manner."

The prefecture said in its announcement that the process to select a priority partner was conducted with fairness and integrity.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all entities who participated in our RFP at a time when the world had faced (the Covid-19) pandemic, and for their unique proposals that make use of their own experience and expertise," Nagasaki Governor Hodo Nakamura added.

“We also thank the members of the evaluation committee, each with their own perspective based on their area of expertise, who have taken the time to strictly evaluate the proposals.

“Going forward, our next course of action is to come to a master agreement with the priority negotiation rights holder. The prefecture will continue its efforts toward receiving national approval for developing an integrated resort in Nagasaki.”
