DraftKings confirms daily fantasy sports launch in Arizona
By Tim Poole

Pending regulatory approval, the Copper State would become the 44th to offer DraftKings Daily Fantasy Sports.

Elsewhere in Arizona, BetMGM has become the latest operator to be granted a sports betting licence.

BetMGM gained market access in the state through partnerships with Gila River Hotels & Casinos and the Arizona Cardinals.

DraftKings, meanwhile, is trading at $57.86 at the time of writing, having enjoyed a surge of new partnerships and launches recently – which frankly have felt never-ending both before and after it went public and acquired supplier SBTech.

Matt Kalish, Co-founder and President of DraftKings North America, said: “There is no better time of the year to launch our leading daily fantasy sports app than ahead of the NFL season.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to provide Arizona sports fans with the thrill of having some skin in the game, as we head into what we expect to be the busiest time of the year for our company."

Also this week, DraftKings confirmed a new deal with supplier of micro-betting technology, Simplebet.

After that deal, Paul Liberman, President, Global Product and Technology at DraftKings, added: “We’re excited to be working with Simplebet to change the in-game betting experience for our customers and, together, changing the way sports fans engage with their favorite sports.

“Through our shared commitment to delivering innovative technology, our customers are now able to take part in this unique betting and engagement experience on the DraftKings Sportsbook.”

So plenty going on at DraftKings – which let's not forget is in the midst of acquiring Golden Nugget Online Gaming. And, as ever, it looks like there's still plenty more to come for the industry giant.
