By Isabella Aslam

Annually, with the focus to adhere to a positive impact in the Economic and Community Development sector, San Manuel has selected charities to receive funds raised through its golf tournament activities. Over the last 22 years the San Manuel Casino has distributed funds up to the value of $1.8m to more than 35 nonprofit organisations.

This year, each organisation out of the seven chosen received $50,000. The tournament recipients included Million Kids, Hopi Education Endowment Fund, Mountain Meals on Wheels, Foothill Family Shelter, BLU Educational Foundation, Notah Begay III (NB3) Foundation and the Cruz Chacon Foundation.

Chair Audrey Martinez, San Manuel Tribal Secretary and Golf Committee, said: “Thanks to generous support of our tournament participants, we are again funding Native American non-profits with national reach, as well as groups focused on regional needs.

“Together, we have raised more than $2m to benefit 45 nonprofits over these last two decades through the San Manuel Golf Tournament.”

The contributions for the event were supported by title sponsors such as: Imagine This, Penta Construction and the Las Vegas Raiders. San Manuel also welcomed its sports partners alongside this from the LA Galaxy, LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, LAFC and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
